Linux Operating System

 Did you hear about Linux?

I am sure that you heard about Linux but unless you use it you will not able to understand what is it actually. Windows, iOS, Android as similar Linux is also a Operating system. Apart from windows and iOS Linux is opensource Operating system. Linux is free of Cost and Unix like operating system Which is written in C and assembly language.

Generally Linux will concluded a lot of version which is known as distro. Some popular distros are as follows,

1. Ubuntu
2. Debian
3. Arch
4. Fedora
5. Opensuse
6. Redhat linux
7. Kali linux
8. Parrot Os
9. Raspberrypi Os

Most of distro have their own flavors as well. Like Ubuntu have its flavors as xubuntu, kubuntu, lubuntu, etc. 

• Why do we need to use Linux?
  Basically Linux is opensource OS and all the app you use in Linux is free of cost and update-able.

  

  
  In comparison to Windows you need to purchase the software and its update but in Linux, You are free of expenses. You will not need a antivirus on Linux. Like a play store in your android you will have a software manger. You will have a facility of modification of Kernel which other OS doesn't allow.

  
  
• For Whom Linux is made ?
  Linux is Opensource OS which can be used by anyone it doesn't have a particular targeted client to use. If You have basic knowledge of Computer then you are eligible to use it.
  
  
• Privacy and security?
  Linux is more powerful OS than other which provide best security at free of cost. Even a lot of hackers do prefer Linux. For the penetration test parrot Linux and Kali Linux are preferred.   
  
  
• Does it run .exe or windows software?

• What about command line interface?
  Basically Linux is available on both interface. Graphics user Interface and Command line interface both. It depend on you rather than OS how you want to use. As comparison than windows Linux terminal functions a lot than Windows DOS. It looks Similar to the Android Linux or MAC OS.

  
  
• Does Windows DOS command are useful on Linux terminal?
  NO! few commands like cd, mkdir are used in Linux as well but it have its own commands. Actually it have more commands than windows. It differs in the syntax i.e the command ipconfig  instead of this ifconfig  is used. 
  
  
• What are the demerit of Linux?
  
  
  

  Generally Linux is best choice to me. Until you are new to Linux you might feel some demerit of Linux. When you will adapt the Linux then you will not switch to other OS.If i need to explain demerit i can mention as follows. For the best instance you can consider windows as a Car and Linux as a Tank. If a user do not have knowledge then it could be a demerits.
  

1. Linux GUI
   If you are newly migrated to Linux from windows you might not like the GUI of Linux. Until you

2. Linux Terminal
   If you are new for CUI it could be a little challenge because few function are done though terminal, But you can use the commands from the google as well. As times goes it will be familiar to you. If you need to install some software apart from Software manager you need to command as
   Sudo-apt get update
   sudo-apt get upgrade 
   Sudo get install software_name 
   
   
3. VPN
   Like windows Linux do not have any VPN software you need to put it manually with id password. As of now i haven't got any Particular VPN software so i am not pretty sure about it.
   
   
4. Softwares
   If you want to use Linux you must be ready to use Alternatives. Software you desire and available

   

   
   might be in different function. Like if you are Using Adobe after effects then when you will switched to Davinchi Resolve then you must learn nodes and Fusion which will be pretty challenging
   
   
   
   
   
   
5. Localhost/Hosting
   For the Hosting of website it have the Apache2 Server. It is really impressive and Flexible. Most of Hosting service are relayed on the Apache2 server which is opensource and affordable by everyone.
